Ms. Jennifer Rice de la Sanchez: Welcome to Whittier Elementary School my name is Jennifer de la Sanchez and I'm going into my fourth year here as principal of this wonderful School.

Whittier is located in the heart of Waukegan near great family restaurants, shops, and supportive neighbors.

At Whittier our motto is passion, persistence, and purpose. Our teachers are passionate about their craft, and work very hard for our students; continually modeling what it looks like to be a lifelong learner.

Our team is persistent when it comes to providing an equitable and differentiated instruction. At each grade level, we strive for each student to have a growth mindset as a learner.

I believe our persistence sets us apart from other schools as we are relentless when it comes to meeting the social and emotional needs of our students, as well at academic needs.

At Whittier our passion for our school community comes in many forms: informative family nights, a tight home-school connection, engaging after school clubs, and a laser focus on pushing our students to achieve high standards, as well as providing our families with support they need to work at home.

At Whittier relationships matter, and are at the forefront of moving our school to the next level.
