Temple Jeremiah

Temple Jeremiah loves Whittier!!!

A helping hand for your children lovingly given by Temple Jeremiah

Since 2004, members of Temple Jeremiah (in Northfield) have been giving a little help to support your children and the staff at Whittier.

Reading: Every week during the school year 14-19 volunteers are in classrooms working with children in one-on-one or in small groups to help improve their reading or math skills. One of our volunteers has been providing this helping hand for over 10 years.

Winter Outerwear: Each November, Temple Jeremiah families collect and give outgrown and gently-used coats, gloves, hats and scarves to the school for Whittier children who may have need. And, one congregant and her friends lovingly knit hats, mittens and scarves for the kids, and even blankets to help comfort children who are not feeling well while they are in the nurse's office.

School Supplies: At school year end, Jeremiah kids save and donate their gently-used school supplies. Each year more than two SUVs full of school and classroom supplies show up at Whittier's doors for distribution.

Uniforms: During the summer our congregants purchase school uniform pieces and the Social Workers at Whittier store them to be given out in situations of need.

Box Tops for Education: This school year we will be collecting Box Tops for Education, so Whittier can earn dollars to be used for computers, books and much more.

We are honored to have a long-term partnership with the fabulous Whittier school team, and, in our small way, help the children and families of Whittier.
